Provincial Grand Lodge of Down

 

Robert M^cMurray was born in Banbridge in 1956 where he attended Banbridge Academy and Banbridge Technical College. Upon leaving college he joined the Ulster Bank in 1975 serving in Rathfriland, Portadown, Banbridge , Killyleagh and ultimately the Waring Street Head Office.

He was initiated into St. John’s Lodge No. 697 in 1977, becoming Worshipful Master in 1985, and then Lodge Secretary in 1991. He was appointed as Provincial Grand Masters’ Standard Bearer in 1995, and subsequently installed as a Provincial Assistant Grand Master in 2003.

His current responsibilities on behalf of the Province are for:- The Grand Lodge Annual Report, District Committees of Inspection, New Master Masons, the Provincial Grand Lodge Treasurer and  Educational matters.
