Masonic Province of Down

Within the Province there are 9 individual Charity Committees with responsibility to coordinate charitable activities, such as

collection and allocation of financial support, within their own specified geographical locations:-

In addition subject to satisfying selection criteria, they may draw upon the facilities of nine specific Masonic Benevolent Foundations:-
 
Masonic Girls Benefit Fund; provides assistance to daughters of deceased Freemasons.
 
Masonic Boys Benefit Fund; provides assistance to sons of deceased Freemasons.
 
Victoria Jubilee Masonic Benevolent Fund; provides assistance to widows.
 
Masonic Welfare Fund; Established in 1997 to extend the scope of Masonic charitable activities.
 
Belfast Masonic Charity Fund; provides assistance to widows and families of deceased Freemasons residing within a 6 mile radius of Belfast within the Province of Down.
 
Belfast Masonic Widows Fund; provides assistance to widows and families of deceased Freemasons formly from Lodges within a 6 mile radius of Belfast, i.e. in the Charity Districts of:- Ballymacarrett, Mountpottinger, Rosetta & Holywood or throughout the Province of Antrim.
 
Down Masonic Widows Fund; established in 1893 to provide assistance to widows and families of deceased Freemasons. Link:   www.downwidows.org
 
Masonic Orphans’ Welfare Fund; provides grants to the children of Freemasons to assist with educational expenses.
 
Margaret Elizabeth Daniel Respite Fund; established in 2009, to provide assistance towards the cost of temporary respite care, for Freemasons or their immediate family members.
